The planting scheme on St Thomas Street in London Bridge runs around the curtiledge of NHS Guys Hospital, between the bulding and pavement.
The planting features an ecologically layered matrix of shade tolerant planting with pereenials, grasses and ferns, providing year round interest through textural contrasts and long seaonal flowering. The planting is designed to survive with only low-input aftercare.
In the dense urban environment the planting helps with carbon capture and mitigating air pollution.
